Intelligently Creative Conceptual Art
Abstract
Abstraction, in Computer Science and Engineering takes complex processes and hides them from the user, one does not have to think about the integration of electronics and software when they turn on their phone, apps just appear.
Abstraction in my conceptual work, comports the same, as I deconstruct complex ideas and reduce them to a simplicity that appeals to many levels of reflection and investigation.
Deconstruction
Entropy, that unpredictable animal that tears order into chaotic disorder, by it’s very existence, constrains it to predictability.
Buildings crunkle, shorelines corrode, relationships remap, and our beings fade eternally into antiquity - predictability.
By dissecting, I examine reality’s design, what is each element’s purpose, function, meaning, and to what degree of mutability can I impart until the chaos renders that element unrecognizable, unreal, unbelievable.
Here is the precipice my mind dances upon, my desire to create anew from those entropic elements.
Design
Design, the basis on which we subconsciously evaluate the world around us, the juxtaposition of unknowing necessity and purposeful invisibility.
The beautiful proportions of a face, the slender length of a table leg, the subtle hues of interacting colours, the feel of a well balanced dessert, I cannot avoid my innate desires for form, balance, texture, and movement, it is what drives me and shapes my focus.
